the inevitable "discussion"

         MONDAY 2/24/2020 4:30 PM--I've got ten songs to learn by Thursday 8:30 PM--I wonder how much effort the other members of the FHB are putting into learning the guest singers' songs...
         TUESDAY 2/25/2020 10:11 AM--I've started working on the open mic material...I don't yet see any problems, but I'm sure they'll turn up eventually...I've got today a little time, tomorrow even more and Thursday as well...I'm not yet worried...
10:55 PM--the Combustibles had a rehearsal, with yet another Bass player...He is allegedly a multi-instrumentalist...I don't think he's in a band permanently, he's just a "gun for hire"...I could be wrong about that though...he was pretty damn good IMO...Barry was apparently quite impressed...I can only imagine what Arch thought of us...*I* think we absolutely sucked--and that includes me...
      But now I must turn my attention to the FHB and the 4th Thursday open mic at the OTWC...we have practice tomorrow...the weather for tomorrow evening may be positively dreadful...and then there's the Combustibles gig on Saturday...I dunno how much money I'll make, but I'm hoping for at least $100 for both gigs...I don't like being forced into being a roadie at the end of the night on those 4th Thursdays...
      And I no longer enjoy backing up a bunch of amateurs and wanna-be singers, and whatever Arlene is...but that's what I get paid to do...oh well...
3:47 PM--and I wish certain band members weren't so concerned about playing songs EXACTLY like the records...we don't play anything exactly like the records anyway, but some people seem to want to...would the audience care that much?*I* don't think so...an anal retentive Musician might...
