starting over OR let's finish what ya start this time

SUNDAY 3/1/2020 5:52 PM--in the first place I looked, I found the TWO adapters I need to record into my laptop and then into Audacity...and rather quickly found a yT video that is recent enough to cover the latest (?) version of Audacity...I think I can even send a signal outta my keyboard into my laptop and forward into Audacity...the Audacity Lab opens tomorrow, IF I can stand to wait that long...there are (as far as I can tell) two different methods of recording on the laptop--record something on the Zoom then into the laptop(Audacity) and record directly into the laptop (Audacity)...
7 PM--I might try the ZOOM method first before I make that big leap...I'm probably wrong but I think it will be pretty dammed easy...I dunno WHAT it will sound like; I don't think it will be in true Stereo...I've seen online where the batteries don't last all that long, so I think I should go to Litz to see if they have the Authorized AC adapter...*I* think they should...then I can save the batteries for field recording...
MONDAY 3/2/2020 9:20 AM-well, it took a while naturally, but I was able to record the chorus of SUGAR MOUNTAIN in three part harmony with acoustic guitar onto the Zoom...that’s four parts plus an additional part to re-record the original melody on top of the first pass…I don’t think there’s anyway to erase a part once you overdub it...not that I know of anyway...The Zoom is (as far as I am concerned) very sophisticated... Which I wouldn’t mind so much if it wasn’t so small and my fingers so fat and stubby…
11:33 AM--had to go to Amazon to get the kind of mic I want/need to use Audacity for recording...it could come as soon as tomorrow, allegedly...as for the ZOOM, I'm still doing research...
12:30 PM--it has taken since about 9:30 (with a trip to run an errand or two and do some laundry in the middle) but the not quite 30 second version of Sugar Mtn. I recorded earlier (just the chorus) is in my iTunes Library, after first being fed into Audacity...I inadvertently cut off the first two seconds or so and it doesn't SOUND very good, but I did it...right or wrong. I blame the ZOOM for the sound quality...I think that at some point, I will re-record the same 30 seconds directly into Audacity, with the microphone I just bought thru Amazon as a test...
4:30 PM--the new mic might come sometime tomorrow...and I might bring the ZOOM to Wednesday's FHB practice...
5:00 PM--whatever my Plans were, they are now on hold--Dianne got fired...maybe MAYBE I can set "the Lab" up in some other part of the house...
7:09 PM--I think I'm gonna have to put the BR-1180CD completely away, inside the cabinet it's currently sitting on top of, and set up the laptop in its' place...I guess I'll work on that tomorrow...
9:10 PM--and if I want to use the laptop in the original spot, I can bring it back upstairs...but dragging the power cable back and forth is gonna get old eventually...maybe I'll visit Best Buy again tomorrow, either before or after the proposed Reverbs rehearsal...
10:05 PM--gotta try to chill out if I can...can't stop thinking about my proposed Project...
