dunno where that came from

SUNDAY 8/11/19 9:36 PM--I played a solo in some semi-jazz song at practice today...*I* was impressed, I can't remember ever playing a solo like that before...No one else seemed to think it was anything special...I think we'll be playing that song on Thursday in Greenbelt...weird...I do feel a sense of relief about leaving the keyboard home...and that's also true about the 9/17 gig in Silver Spring...it's only a two hour gig, and we don't get paid...and frankly, I'm expecting a large crowd, even though it's a Tuesday evening (?)...as a keyboard player, I dunno if I'd be ready for a large crowd, whatever "large" means...although I could improve quite a bit between now and then...but probably not enough to be relaxed about it...I just hope neither Lee nor Geoff nor Phil will mind NOT having me on keys for the gig...
I DO kinda wonder how they feel about my keyboard ability at this point in time...Then again, ACME as a unit is not very good IMO...None of the other band members seem to agree with me...
The ITN is scheduled to play at the OTWC in November...Fortunately I'll be just the guitar player at that gig as well...I will try not to think about how the band will go over with the Derwood crowd...as I've said before, we're only a little better than The ACME Band Company...and not as good as the 4th Thursday Band...Once I loosen up (which is never easy, but does happen) I'm a better singer than Dave, I think...As for Lee, her Flakebook profile says she studied Music at the U of MD...that doesn't mean she passed the class (or classes) and HER ear for Music doesn't appear to be as good as mine...she is terrible at harmonies, as far as I can hear...
10:49PM--It may be a Gov't Project, but I'm hoping to put new strings on both electrics...It felt good using Butterscotch at practice...I didn't like the sound I was getting though, even thru the gizmo--until, right before the last song of the day, I switched to Memory Mode (U1) and then it sounded pretty good...better late than never I often say...
