Maybe I can put "keyboards" on my Musical resumé soon

TUESDAY 7/23/19 10:48PM--the audition with the ACME Band was a success for the most part...there were occasional tech glitches...and occasional bum notes, but to some degree that was because I couldn't always hear the keyboard...I regret not bringing the ear plugs...most of the songs I thought would work well with keyboards the other band members seemed to agree with...there were some disagreements, but I kept my Mouth shut...the only major conflict was over a pair of Carole King songs--*I* learned them from a pair of youTube vids...apparently those were not the arrangements the band uses...
It was rather strongly suggested that I bring my guitar gear to our next practice...no problem...there was a discussion about the stage set up at Lahinch...having my keyboard onstage may present a challenge of some sort...Also, I mentioned to Dave that my being busy for the next few days is stressing me out a bit...I dunno if he heard what I said or cared about what I said...but it's true...Today was ACME Band Co. day...tomorrow and Thursday will be 4th Thursday Band days--practice one day, gig the next...Friday and Saturday will be Herbert/Geshen days...same deal...there is also a visit from Sue and Mike on the schedule...I hope their visit is on Sunday, but I'm afraid it's on Saturday...
To get back to the keyboard audition, I dunno for sure but I got the impression that at least one member of the band (Lee, the female singer) was surprised by my bringing the keyboard stuff (and no guitar stuff) to rehearsal...in addition, I had a teeny bit of trouble remembering the neighborhood...I was able to stop at a Beer Wine Deli place and get a bottle of soda to drink at practice...I was a bit early as well, Mike doesn't like that...
WEDNESDAY 7/24/19 6:30 AM--after a typically fair night's sleep, I'm thinking that my keyboard skills are equal to the overall musicianship level of the band...I dunno if anyone else feels about Geoff's guitar playing the way I do--that is, WAY too much Garcia in his playing...I WANT to ask, but I won't...*I* think if you play a variety of Music, your instrumental style should have variety in it..and Phil the Bass player is playing the wrong part on the intro to WHAT ABOUT LOVE, the Heart song we play...
And our version of SHADOWS OF THE NIGHT is IMO terrible...the only song that's worse is our version of ROLLIN' IN THE DEEP...like I've said before, I'm not proud of the ACME band, like I'm not proud of the Combustibles...I thought the Barry&Scott duo was pretty good, maybe not as good as Lou&Scott, but not horrible...I'm cautiously optimistic about Jeff&Scott...In ToneNation is a slight improvement over the Combustibles and the ACME Band, but the best band I'm in (IMO) is the 4th Thursday Band--whatever our actual name will be...
