a pretty good night IMO and one that was just OK

FRIDAY 7/26/19 1:32 AM--the 4TH Thursday open mic for July is history...It went well enuff...the songs that I had practiced I played well...the songs I didn't were a bit sloppy, if not more so...after the last act, the house band did another set...each member of the band sang one...I did PINK CADILLAC...It was (IMO) one of my best vocal performances in recent years...
I forgot to take a Xanax AND I forgot to use my ear plugs, but otherwise it was a pretty good night...the four of us got paid a bit extra because our keyboard player was absent...I wish we could all come home with $75 dollars every Month...we don't yet have an Official name for the band...I think That Time of the Month is a name that only certain people will get...by which I mean the regulars at the OTWC 4th Thursday Open Mic... I've always said the hardest part of forming a band, after deciding on a Musical style, is the name...I need to do whatever is necessary to get some sleep...I think 20mgs of Melatonin oughta get the job done...
When it comes to Male harmony singers, I've met my match--it's Brian Chiara...that is a sobering thought...after our  "disgreement"  at practice, I wondered if I could be in a band with him...together, helping the last couple of performers, the harmonies we did were fantastic...Well, enough about tonight's gig, now it's time to focus on the H/G duo...practice is about 13 hours from now...and Dianne and I are (I think) going to see a certain band after that--she's friends with the lead singer...
7:25PM--going out soon, I figure we'll be home by 11PM...then I get to work on the kitty litter and trash...practice with Jeff went very well, once I got there--got a teeny bit lost on the way to his house, not sure why...Jeff said that Brian was a bit too OCD for his taste...Brian said Jeff was a bit too "relaxed" for HIS taste...I'm more like Jeff than Brian...I'm not yet worried about the Musical aspect of the gig...I AM concerned about parking...oh well...
11:13PM--the band (49 Cent Dress) was OK, I still think they need a keyboard player...they weren't too loud, but we were sitting close to the stage...I shoulda had, but forgot to bring, my ear plugs...in spite of the fact that there IS no dance floor to speak of, there were a LOT of people dancing...Dianne said she felt claustrophobic and wanted to leave...so we did...about 12 hours from now we'll be having company...in about 19 hours, I'll be doing my first official gig with Jeff Herbert...he doesn't seem to be worried, so I'll try not to worry...Sunday I'll be recuperating, after I take Muzzy to the groomers...
