SUNDAY 3/21/21 12:08PM--Ray says he's doing a show on Sunday 5/23 in Annapolis...he will be featuring his A FATHER'S HEART songs, and stories as well...Four former members of the best known lineup of the LCB just might be there...Ray, me, Mike and Kenny...John Vengrouski could (theoretically) fill in for Bill--IF my idea came to fruition...that idea is this: pick a couple of songs from the album (or other Ray songs) and play 'em...we have TWO MONTHS to learn 'em...
Suddenly, I've decided to let someone else come up with the idea...although I wouldn't be surprised if Ray comes up with it, but keeps it to himself...we'll see...after all, ya can't go back home again, right?
9:32PM--naturally, *I* couldn't keep MY mouth shut...via email we had a brief discussion about the idea...he didn't say YES, but he didn't say NO either...
MONDAY 3/22/21 12:02AM--I THINK Ray is about to power up a green light...
10:24 AM--but he can't...Ram's Head doesn't allow him to do any gigs before or after the show he's doing for them...the Universe has "spoken"...
FRIDAY 4/2/21 9:44PM--Ray says he wants the LCB reunion to be "low-key"...not much, if any pre-show publicity...and he wants it to be acoustic--not MY first choice, but I'm not in charge...Once I'm sure we've got a green light, I'll start re-learning the guitar...
It took close to 20 tries, more or less, but I did a remix of another Bee Gees song...I give it a 9.5 outta 10...I tried to do another Neil Young loop, but THAT isn't gonna happen...oh well...
TUESDAY 4/27/21 5:38PM--the first of Ray's "Tuesday's open mic-ish" gigs at Brian Boru starts tonight...I THINK he's gonna do the same thing on Wednesdays at Kilarney House, starting tomorrow evening...The plan was to wait until two weeks after the 2nd vaccination--that was advised, but I can't remember by whom...Two weeks (and one day) is the First of May, a Saturday...I'll go see Ray on the Tuesday after that...I hope/think my calluses will have come back by then...
7:20PM--dunno if I'm gonna practice my guitar tonight or not...I should, but I don't feel like it...we'll see... 8:35PM-The idea of using rubbing alcohol on your fingertips to strengthen the calluses seems to be working...I think I just have to keep practicing (and using the rubbing alcohol) until next Tuesday…I’ll probably go, whether my fingers are ready or not…
THURSDAY 4/29/21 7PM--I THINK I wanna buy new strings for the acoustic and maybe for "eBay" as well, just in case...maybe I'll go to Victor Litz sometime tomorrow...to be brutally frank, I don't (yet) want to go sit in with Ray or have an LCB reunion...but just in case I suddenly get excited about all of it, I need to make sure everything works...cables, stomp boxes, etc. I've got until next Tuesday to make sure...
